Mohawk Flooring has its vast variety of products across the board, starting at Luxury Vinyl and expanding all the way over to Engineered Hardwood.
However, recently the company has expanded its product base even further, entering a new age for the Flooring industry, launching their line of vinyl products, PureTech.
What makes these vinyl products so different from the rest? These products are made PVC free. That’s right, PureTech products are 100% PVC free, opting instead to use recycled materials for its construction, with an 80% renewable material core and is made up of 70% recycled material as a whole.
Despite being PVC Free, PureTech does not lack anything in terms of Durability, as a newly formulated wear layer made of naturally occurring minerals provides a 3 times greater scratch resistance than current Luxury Vinyl Tile(LVT) products, which was determined by force based testing using a sclerometer, which is an instrument used to determine the scratch hardness of materials.
Mohawk has also partnered with Plastic Bank, a for-profit company based out of Vancouver B.C, Canada, to stop single use plastic waste from reaching the world’s oceans, while also removing over $1 million USD of plastic currently polluting the oceans today. Every purchase of PureTech flooring helps keep the planet a cleaner and healthier place to live.
The PureTech line was launched in February 2024 and is the industries newest option of planet friendly flooring.
